A review from a veterinary surgeon.
"My dog is blind - but lives life to the full" deals comprehensively with the subject and is written in a non-technical style that will make it accessible to dog owners. It is an optimistic "can-do" book and provides plenty of case studies to illustrate how individual dogs (and their owners) have coped with their disability. This book provides a useful starting point that can help owners understand their dogs disability and learn to cope with it.
As a support book it is worth recommending to owners as part of a support package that aims to empower owners and allow them to develop a sensitivity to, and understanding of, what is, at first, a very distressing condition. Owners will particularly appreciate reading the case studies and seeing how others have coped well with similar problems. It is this potential to help owners cope with their dogs blindness that allow me to recommend this book.
